SUMMARY:NCWA 2023 Conference  - Removing the Gender Divide
DESCRIPTION:The NCWA Removing the Gender Divide Conference.\n  \nThe NCWA AGM and Conference ‘Removing the Gender Divide’ have delegates from NCW Constituent Councils from all Australian States. \nThe Conference will be held at HC Combes Centre\, Kirribilli\, on Tuesday\, the 17th of October 2023 and includes a ‘Members only’ AGM at 1:30 pm\, afternoon tea and Conference. \nA Reception will be held at Admiralty House on Tuesday evening hosted by the NCWA Patron\, Her Excellency Mrs Linda Hurley. \n  \nThe Guest Speakers\nDr Hannah Tonkin\, NSW Women’s Safety Commissioner \nDr Hannah Tonkin commenced as the inaugural NSW Women’s Safety Commissioner in February 2023. In this role\, she leads whole-of-government and cross-sector initiatives to address domestic\, family and sexual violence. Previously Hannah worked as an international lawyer and policy adviser at the United Nations\, as the Director of Disability Rights at the Australian Human Rights Commission\, and as a barrister in London and Adelaide. While at the UN\, Hannah worked in a range of conflict and post-conflict contexts\, including Rwanda\, Sierra Leone\, Gaza\, Ukraine and the former Yugoslavia\, with a focus on protecting civilians in conflict\, prosecuting war crimes and addressing sexual abuse within the UN system. \n  \nAnnabelle Herd\, CEO ARIA \nAnnabelle is the CEO of ARIA and PPCA. She came to the music industry in February 2021 following a 16-year career in television at Network 10 where she most recently held the role of Chief Operating Officer\, looking after a range of functions\, including operations\, corporate and government affairs\, and strategy. Prior to Network 10\, she spent several years working in government\, including four years in senior political roles for then Minister for Communications and the Arts\, Senator the Hon. Richard Alston AO. She is a Council Member of the Australian Film\, Television and Radio School (AFTRS) and was previously a board member of Save the Children Australia\, Freeview Australia\, and Free TV Australia. In 2019 Annabelle was invited to participate in the McKinsey Remarkable Women Program. Annabelle has a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts (Asian Studies) from the Australian National University. \n  \nLeanne Pilkington\, Deputy President Real Estate Institute of Australia (REIA) \nLeanne’s 40 years of experience covers the full spectrum of real estate services: sales\, property management\, retail\, and commercial leasing and management\, as well as property development. Being recognised in a range of awards such as Telstra and Optus Business awards\, to mention just two\, she is considered a thought leader and one of the industry’s most influential people.
