The United Nations (UN) hosts the world’s biggest gathering on women’s rights – The Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) each year.
Global leaders, campaigners, and policy-makers come together for two weeks at the UN Headquarters in New York to discuss the progress that has been made towards achieving gender equality and the work that is still required to do.
Those discussions and negotiations feed the outcome document, which, if adopted by the Commission, will give guidance to United Nations agencies and UN member states on how to push the women’s rights agenda forward.
This year’s priority theme for CSW67 is innovation, technological change, and education in the digital age for women and girls.

The National Australian Chinese Women Association NACWA develops and empowers Sino-Australian women to participate and lead in all matters of Australian culturally diverse and inclusive community life, from national policy-making to local matters, advocacy leadership and community development.
One of the side events, NACWA celebrated their tenth anniversary and International Women’s Day and NCWA President Chiou See Anderson attended.
We can only progress in gender equality when we empower and amplify the ideas and experiences of women from all backgrounds and cultures.
With such a strong group of women in attendance and all working toward achieving gender equality, we are thrilled to have connected with many international partners and delegates from across the globe, we look to continue to create long-lasting change for women and girls.
Until gender equality is achieved, NCWA will continue to advocate for the rights of women and girls in all their diversity.
